Students, parents rally to save Crown Heights school

BROOKLYN - Outraged students and parents are rallying together in an effort to save a Crown Heights school.

Middle School for the Arts on East New York Avenue is on a list of schools to be phased out by the Department of Education (DOE) due to poor performance.

Protesters say the school services a wide range of students, including those with special needs, and that shutting it down would be a huge loss to the community.
