BROOKLYN - New numbers from the New York City Police Department show subway robberies are on the rise.

Police say there have been 118 grand larcenies citywide this year. Cell phones and iPods were the most stolen products.

Police are also cracking down on fare beaters. They arrested 15,700 people this year, an increase of 11 percent from last year.
