BROOKLYN - Mayor Michael Bloomberg's ban on sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces goes into effect tomorrow.

The ban applies to most delis, restaurants and movie theaters. However, many grocery stores and convenience stores will be exempt from the ban.

Bloomberg says the idea for the ban came from the rising obesity rates in the city.
