BROOKLYN - Brooklyn has been named the most expensive place to live in the United States, according to a survey by RealtyTrac.

The survey claims that Brooklyn rivals Manhattan and San Francisco in terms of affordability.

Rapid Realty 86 Inc. in Bensonhurst says that great demand is creating higher prices for housing. It also says that a good portion of sales in the borough are actually investment properties.

Rapid Realty expects prices to continue rising for the next few years.
