Suspect arrested in connection to shooting of 10-year-old

BROOKLYN - Police have arrested a man in connection to the shooting of a 10-year-old boy last month.

Police say Quayshaun Smith, 18, is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The 10-year-old boy was hit in the neck and shoulder by a stray bullet that came through an East New York home's window Sept. 1. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
