BROOKLYN - Three brothers arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Brownsville mother were arraigned today in Downtown Brooklyn.

Police arrested 18-year-old Andrew Lopez, 22-year-old Jonathon Carrasquillo and 17-year-old Kristian Lopez in a triple shooting near P.S. 268 last Friday.

According to authorities, Andrew Lopez has confessed to firing the shots believed to have struck Horton. They say charges for the brothers include murder, felony assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

After their arraignment, Andrew Lopez and Carrasquillo were sent back to jail after no bail was set. Bail for Kristian Lopez, which was not posted, was set at $10,500.

Zurana Horton, a 34-year-old mother of 12, was killed while trying to protect children from gunfire. Another mother and a sixth-grade girl were wounded.
