GERRITSEN BEACH - Police are trying to determine who etched a swastika on a building in Gerritsen Beach.

Authorities say the swastika on the Whitney Avenue building appears to have been written in crayon. Local residents say whoever is responsible for the hateful message must be found.

Residents say the swastika was left on the building for days.
