Tax deadline looming after 3-day extension

BROOKLYN - The tax deadline has rolled around again but this year it was three days later than usual.

The last day to files taxes is today, April 18. The deadline typically falls on the 15th but this year the date coincided with Emancipation Day, a holiday in Washington D.C.

Those who have not filed their taxes can still do so or apply for an extension. Experts say collection of late-filing charges is up 8 percent.
