Teen shot in leg at Washington Hall Park playground

A high school student was shot at a playground near his school shortly after class was dismissed on Monday.

Officials say the 16-year-old was shot around 3:30 p.m. at Washington Hall Park in Clinton Hill.

BROOKLYN - A high school student was shot at a playground near his school shortly after class was dismissed on Monday.

Officials say the 16-year-old was shot around 3:30 p.m. at Washington Hall Park in Clinton Hill.

News 12 is told the victim is a student at nearby Benjamin Banneker Academy.

Officials say someone entered the park and began shooting. They say the victim sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh.

News 12 is told the victim then ran with some of his friends to Myrtle and Waverly avenues, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to Kings County Hospital.

Police say they don't know if the student was the intended target.

They also say the suspect is still at large.
