BROOKLYN - High school students and young residents were out Saturday for the annual Bensonhurst cleanup.

Assemblyman William Colton recruited young people to clean up their own neighborhood after receiving complaints that a popular shopping area had become dirty and unwelcoming.

The team of 50 – armed with shovels, gloves and garbage bags – swept away debris and garbage for several blocks.

The teens tell News 12 they are motivated to work since they all live in the area.
