Teen struck by car in front of school

A 17-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in front of James Madison High School in Midwood. According to police,

BROOKLYN - A 17-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in front of James Madison High School in Midwood.

According to police, the accident happened just before noon. 

Witnesses say the teen attends the school and was running for an MTA bus before getting hit. 

He was taken by ambulance to Kings County Hospital, and emergency officials say he is badly injured but conscious and responsive.

A classmate describes the victim as a good student and a basketball fan. He says they left school early after completing a day of testing.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and police are investigating.
