Tenants of Flatbush building fed up with squalid conditions

FLATBUSH - Residents at 341 East 19th St. say they're living in deplorable conditions because their landlord refuses to make any repairs.

Because of the conditions, residents opened their doors to News 12 Brooklyn's cameras and to elected officials, hoping the notoriety would spur the much-needed repairs.

Residents say they've been dealing with things like broken ovens, damaged sinks and overall squalid conditions for over 10 years.

Tenants say their landlord, Isaac Schwartz, won't make repairs to rent-stabilized apartments.

Residents are hoping that the Department of Housing Preservation will take notice and force the landlord to make the needed repairs.
