THE BRONX - Tenants at 454 40th St. are suing their landlord saying they are fed up with the lack of gas and hot water in the building.

Tenants say landlord Alexander Varveris has not made any needed repairs. They say they have been without cooking gas and hot water since late June. Last year, tenants say they were left without electricity for more than 30 days.

According to the Department of Buildings, the six-unit building has 89 violations and 22 of them are classified as "immediately hazardous."

Tenants say they want a judge to hold the landlord responsible for the ongoing problems.
