BROOKLYN - Residents in Fort Greene are angry that plants are being stolen right from their front yards.

One resident on South Oxford Street even captured the thief on surveillance video.

The video shows a woman dig out a plant from near the sidewalk and try unsuccessfully to pull out a second one before she walks away.

Abby Weissman, president of the South Oxford Block Association, says he never saw the thief in person, but says a friend experienced the same type of theft.

News 12 spoke with neighbors who say this isn't the first time this type of crime has happened. Some say they have now stopped decorating their yards.
