Thousands march in Way of the Cross

BROOKLYN - Thousands marched from Saint James Cathedral across the Brooklyn Bridge all the way to ground zero Friday for the 15th annual Way of the Cross procession.

The march is a traditional Catholic event to remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. Participants follow cross bearers in silence, stopping a few times for singing and prayer.

One walker brought her 16-year-old son for the first time. She says it's a great way to get closer to her son and God.
