Threatening email warns of school bus attacks

BROOKLYN - A disturbing letter sent to some members of the media and public officials warns of attacks of school buses in New York and on Long Island.

The threatening email was received April 1. New York State Police, the state Office of Counter Terrorism, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other officials are investigating the email, according to the New York State Education Department notification.

Bus drivers have been directed to conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, and be vigilant of strangers approaching school buses.
