Tivoli Towers saved from being torn down

BROOKLYN - Tivoli Towers, one of Brooklyn?s largest affordable housing units, has been saved from being torn down.

Stellar Mangement has taken over the building in a $15 million deal that includes making improvements to the public housing center. The affordable housing unit provides 320 low-rent apartments on Crown Street near the east side of Prospect Park.

The improvements will begin immediately and take two years to complete. Those improvements include repairs to the roof, parking garages and building facades.
