BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - A 3-year-old girl suffered burns over 70 percent of her body as the result of a fire on Thursday night.

Officials say firefighters rescued the toddler who was trapped in a back bedroom. Fire marshals say the toddler was playing with a lighter when the fire started. The child is the only one who was injured as a result of the fire.

The girl?s father may be charged for allegedly leaving her home alone.
