BROOKLYN - While the snow has died down across the borough, many businesses remained closed in Coney Island.

The only business that was open on the Boardwalk today, and remains open all year, was Tom's Restaurant.

"We've committed to the community that we would stay open, so all of our customers know that unless there is two feet of snow outside, and we can't get here, we will be open," says the owner of the restaurant.

The owner also says that it's difficult to find good help, so if the restaurant closes for three or four months, they will probably lose their workers.

While the owner admits that it's a financial struggle to stay open year-round, he hopes that the commitment to residents, tourists and the community will pay off in the long run.
