Toss out the trash: Sanitation pickup resumes

CANARSIE - Many Brooklyn residents are finally throwing out the trash as the Department of Sanitation has resumed garbage pickup for the first time since last week's blizzard.

Only people who normally have trash collected on Monday should put their garbage out by the curb. Others will have it picked up on regularly scheduled days.

Officials say recycling pickup may resume sometime later this week.
