BROOKLYN - As children enjoy the last few moments of their vacation, Brooklyn parents have many logistical concerns to resolve, such as how their child will get to and from school.

Parents with transportation concerns still have time to verify their child's bus route by calling the Department of Education's transportation hotline at 718-392-8855. Staff members will be available from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends until Oct. 4.

Education officials say they also plan to put GPS devices on 50 school buses to track their whereabouts.
