Truck problems continue for Midwood residents

Midwood residents tell News 12 Brooklyn that 18-wheelers and other big rigs are still illegally parking along Bay Parkway, a story News 12 first reported

MIDWOOD - Midwood residents tell News 12 Brooklyn that 18-wheelers and other big rigs are still illegally parking along Bay Parkway, a story News 12 first reported in October.

The drivers, idling for long periods of time, are also dumping garbage for years, according to residents.

Midwood resident Ben Lapidus says the problem starts when a truck parks on Bay Parkway by Washington Cemetery for days or sometimes weeks at a time, which causes other truck drivers to look for space in more residential areas.

The Department of Transportation signs posted in the area say there is no parking allowed from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Fridays, meaning trucks are allowed to park there, just not for extended periods of time.
