BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn salon is brightening the day for women who are either battling or have survived breast cancer.

The True Indian Hair Salon on Flatbush Avenue chose three women who have been affected by the disease before the age of 40 to have a makeover. The event was held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The women were treated to custom wigs and extensions. Professional makeup artists also helped finish off the new look.

Each woman will reveal their new looks at a private reception at the Brooklyn Wine Yard.

The salon plans to host the event each year.
