Twister tears through Canarsie, topples trees with fierce winds

CANARSIE - Officials confirm that at least two separate twisters touched down in the city yesterday, one of them in Queens and the other right here in Brooklyn.Authorities say an EF1 tornado ripped through Canarsie, bringing winds that reached 110 mph. The storm toppled trees, scattered debris and brought heavy flooding, but no injuries were reported.Crews are out today cleaning up the branches and debris.
