Two police officers slashed while issuing summons in East New York

BROOKLYN - Two NYPD officers were slashed Tuesday as they attempted to issue a summons in East New York.Police say the incident occurred at the J train station at Broadway and Eastern Parkway. They say the suspect slashed one of the officers in the head and the other officer in the hand. Officials say one of the officers then shot the suspect.The officer slashed in the head was taken to Jamaica Hospital and was listed in serious but stable condition. The other officer was in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital. Both officers are expected to recover.The suspect was taken to Brookdale Hospital. There is no word yet on what charges he is likely to face.
