Unemployment benefits end for thousands

BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents are bracing for holiday heartache as their unemployment benefits have run out.

As of this morning, 2 million Americans don't have jobless benefits. Some 130,000 jobless New Yorkers wil lose benefits by the end of the week. Congress failed on act on a plan to extend them. Opponents are concerned that doing so will add to the $13 trillion national debt. Fate of jobless to be decided today
