BROOKLYN - Coney Island residents now have a new tool to help fight gun violence.

The state Legislature gave a grant of $250,000 to the community for an anti-violence coalition.

The non-profit Urban Neighborhood Services Inc. will use the money to launch a gun violence reduction campaign that will include an outreach street program, mental health services and job assistance training.

Organizers say the goal is to be accessible to the community and try to stop senseless killings.
