BROOKLYN - For people who eat vegan or kosher, or both, it's not always easy to enjoy tasty Latin dishes, but a one-of-it's-kind restaurant in Park Slope is hoping to change that.
V Spot is a new Latin restaurant that serves kosher and vegan dishes. Owner Alex Carabano, who is a Brooklyn native of Colombian descent, says Latinos are "kind of scared of veganism," but that didn't stop him.
The restaurant serves meatless and dairy-free dishes that use traditional Latin seasonings, like adobo made from scratch. Instead of meat, the foods use a wheat-based, bread-like substitute.
One of the most popular items on the menu are the vegan nachos.
