Traffic was backed up in both directions on the Brooklyn Bridge this evening after a vehicle caught fire in the eastbound lanes, officials say.

Authorities say a taxi caught fire on the bridge just after 5 p.m., temporarily shutting down traffic for two hours in both directions.

The FDNY says no injuries were reported.

The bridge, which turned 130 years old on Friday, reopened just after 7 p.m.
