Veterans have mixed reactions to Obama address

BROOKLYN - Veterans of the Iraq war had mixed reactions to President Barack Obama?s address to the nation yesterday.

Obama declared an end to the combat mission in Iraq after an unsuccessful seven-year engagement that cost hundreds of lives on both sides.

Jean Cruz, who has been home from Iraq for five years, is skeptical. He says the 50,000 troops that will be left in Iraq for completion are a clear sign that the war is not over.

Other veterans are excited to see loved ones come home and many hope to see them soon.
