GREENPOINT - Brooklyn residents are remembering the sacrifices of the nation's veterans during the Memorial Day weekend.

Soldiers serving in Iraq were honored at the annual Greenpoint Memorial Day Parade along Manhattan Avenue. Pat Sprano, the grand marshal of the parade, served in World War II and walked six blocks with fellow veterans.

Sprano says he was honored to be walking alongside fellow soldiers.
