BED-STUY - Police are searching for the gunman who opened fire inside a Bed-Stuy bodega Wednesday morning, killing a man and injuring another.

Surveillance video shows the two victims standing near the counter when the suspect runs into the store at the intersection of Hart Street and Tompkins Avenue.

The gunman opened fire on 38-year-old Neil Thompson, police say. Video shows him standing over Thompson and continuing to shoot at him before turning and running out the door.

Thompson was shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead.

The other man, a 64-year-old who was standing behind Thompson, was also shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

A worker who was in the store when the shooting occurred tells News 12 that the two victims were regular customers and friends of his.  As for the gunman, he says he'd never seen him before.

He says the victims were eating breakfast and chatting when the suspect, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, entered the store and opened fire. He says the man didn't say a word before or after the shooting.

News 12 is told Thompson's family owns a laundromat on the same street as the bodega. Sources say the shooting may have revolved around a dispute involving a woman.

Police are asking anyone with any information to come forward.
