Vigil held for victims of fatal Bushwick fire

BROOKLYN - Mourners came together for a vigil tonight to honor the victims of Friday night's fatal fire in Bushwick.

Officials say that flames broke out at 16 Covert St. because a hot plate was placed too close to a bed. The fire then spread to surrounding buildings, claiming the lives of two men.

Neighbors say the men, one identified as Frank and the other as George, or "Uncle Jigs", were excellent role models who will be greatly missed. Many residents say they are now fundraising so they can help give the men the burial they deserve.
