Volunteers clean up Sandy-damaged garden in Clinton Hill for New York Cares Day

Dozens of volunteers participated in the 19th annual New York Cares Day by pitching in to help clean up a community garden in Clinton Hill.

CLINTON HILL - Dozens of volunteers participated in the 19th annual New York Cares Day by pitching in to help clean up a community garden in Clinton Hill.

The Classon Fulgate Block Association Garden was damaged six months ago in Superstorm Sandy and volunteers are cleaning it up today so residents can start using it again.

The Clinton Hill garden is one of 23 places in Brooklyn that are being fixed up today. New York Cares also hosts another day of service in the fall.
