BROOKLYN - A longtime Brooklyn resident and Vietnam War veteran has cut the ribbon on his completely renovated home after Superstorm Sandy.

Volunteers remodeled the Red Hook home for Michael "Mickey" Chirieleison, who lost everything when 11 feet of water flooded his house last October.

News 12 first visited Chirieleison back in May to survey the damage before workers got started.

Chirieleison is one of three people in the community who received help through Sears' Heroes at Home and Rebuilding Together NYC.
