Water main break floods Clarkson Avenue outside SUNY Downstate Medical Center

BROOKLYN - A water main break flooded the street in front of SUNY Downstate Medical Center Wednesday morning.

Crews with Department of Environmental Protection and the FDNY rushed to 470 Clarkson Ave., and were able to get it under control in about two hours.

According to fire officials, the storm drains surrounding the hospital were fortunately clear and able to take in massive amounts of water.

Officials say the hospital was not affected in any way.
