BROOKLYN - A line of severe storms will be approaching the city this afternoon into the early evening.

According to News 12 meteorologists, the storms can spark severe thunderstorms, bringing some damaging wind, hail and heavy rain. They say there is also a small threat of a tornado or tornado-like storm to move with the weather.

The skies are expected to clear up this evening, making for mild overnight temperatures near 67 degrees. However, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect in the borough through 9 p.m.

Hot conditions will return Wednesday under sunny skies and highs near 90.

Clouds and scattered showers may return late Thursday and continue through the weekend.
