BROOKLYN - As Hurricane Sandy makes its way closer to the Northeast, winds will be picking up throughout Sunday night into Monday.

News 12 Brooklyn Meteorologist Bryan Bachman says wind and minor coastal flooding will increase as we head into Monday morning, with the wind gusts reaching hurricane strength in the afternoon.

The worst of the storm is expected to last from Monday afternoon into the evening.
