BROOKLYN - Brookyln saw a violent start to the weekend with three shootings that left one person dead.

One of the three shootings took place on Friday night at around 11 p.m. A 29-year-old victim was shot in the cheek, and is expected to survive. The shooting happened on East 38th Street in Flatlands.

Police say that at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, 24-year-old Donnell Smith was shot multiple times in the torso at the houses on East 58th Street. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

A third shooting happened on Parkside Avenue, police say.

No arrests have been made in the three cases.

Police are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man near the Glenwood Houses.
