BROOKLYN - There are some construction projects on the roads and rails that residents should be aware of this weekend.

The Carey Tunnel will be closed for several hours on Sunday during the Annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run, commemorating the FDNY firefighters' run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center on 9/11. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend the event.

The tunnel will reopen at around 3 p.m. This will cause a lot of congestion on the BQE, so drivers should allow additional time for travel.

The Manhattan-bound upper roadway of the Brooklyn Bridge will be closed during the overnight hours on Saturday and Sunday. This will cause lots of delays during the time on Sunday when organizers prep for the Carey Tunnel closure.

Alternate side of the street parking rules will be in effect citywide this weekend.

On mass transit, there will be a lot of weekend track work happening. G train service will be suspended in Brooklyn from Nassau Avenue to Court Square.
