BROOKLYN - If you plan on staying local this weekend, there are some events and construction projects that could affect your travels.

The Dyker Heights Kids Marathon for Curing Kids Cancer takes place on Saturday. The runners start at 9 a.m. and finish around 9:45 a.m. All the runners will start on 82nd Street and 13th Avenue, go to 66th Street and 12th Avenue, and then back again. The post-marathon activities will take place on 83rd Street between 13th and 14th avenues. The block will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.

Main Street will be closed between Front and Water streets throughout the weekend from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for repairs.

On Sunday, there will be plenty of closures on local streets for the Tour de Brooklyn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Alternate side of the street parking rules will be in effect throughout the weekend.
