BROOKLYN - A number of events may tie up traffic in the borough this weekend.

East 8th Street will be closed for repairs between Caton and Kermit places this weekend and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.

The Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade will shut down 18th Avenue from 60th to 84th streets from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday. The area is expected to be very congested and mass transit is the recommended way of getting around.

Alternate-side parking rules are in effect throughout the city this weekend.
