BROOKLYN - The 44th annual West Indian American Day Carnival made its way down the Eastern Parkway as paradegoers and participants celebrated West Indian culture with music, food, costumes, and dancing.

Many residents came from all over the city to celebrate their culture and to have a little fun.

Some residents began staking out their seats hours before the parade to make sure they got a good spot.

Some were a little disappointed with the parade, saying that only 15 floats were featured in this year's festival, compared to 25 last year.

While the parade may be over, many people say they are still celebrating, enjoying the food and partying into the evening. For Chopper 12 video of the parade and other extended coverage, go to Channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and select iO Extra.
