BROOKLYN - Some young Brooklyn students are gaining pearls of wisdom at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Kids from M.S. 584 in Crown Heights have been exploring the world of oysters as they learn about the environment.

The hands-on lesson gives students the chance to touch and measure live eastern oyster clusters, just one of the species in the New York Harbor.

The learning experience is made possible by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy's education program, which has five oyster gardens for students to gain a better understanding of environmental conservation.
