BROOKLYN - A Sunset Park elementary school is celebrating its big centennial.

Students at P.S. 172 on Fourth Avenue marked the milestone by taking a trip back in time to see what the school was like 100 years ago.

The auditorium transformed into a museum for the event, spotlighting different periods of Brooklyn's history since 1914. Students even took part by modeling the evolution of fashion and dancing to popular music from the past.
P.S. 172 is now aiming to keep up its academic performance in the next 100 years. It recently won the National Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education.
