Wi-Fi service to be installed in livery cabs

BROOKLYN - Livery cabs in New York City are about to get a big upgrade as Wi-Fi service will be installed in some cabs.

The service, provided by GroundLink and LimoRes, will be free to users, but will be supported by advertising.

Riders in the cabs will also have the ability to charge their devices en-route to their destinations.

The service, which will roll out this fall, will only be available in livery cabs, not in yellow cabs.
