Wicked weather leaves damage across BK

(09/16/10) BROOKLYN - Brooklyn was rocked by strong winds and heavy rains from a powerful storm earlier tonight.Officials say some of the worst damage was reported in Park Slope and Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Some residents said they hid in their basements because they feared it may have been a tornado. Others said they never saw so much rain and wind at once in their neighborhoods. The storm also caused traffic delays across the borough due to downed wires and trees, some of which toppled onto cars. The National Weather Service had briefly issued a tornado warning for the borough after 5 p.m.
