Wicked winds, bitter temps blast Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - Wicked winds and bitter blasts swept through the borough Tuesday with temperatures reaching dangerously cold levels.

On bitter-cold days, wearing layers, as well as hats, gloves and scarves, become all the more important. Residents also need to make sure their four-legged friends are bundled up as they brave the elements.

If possible, experts also recommend staying indoors and using space heaters to warm small areas more efficiently.
