BROOKLYN - A popular Williamsburg eatery known for its multicolored bagels is closed for renovations.

A spokesperson for the The Bagel Store on Bedford Avenue says they recently saw a surge in customers due to the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day, and workers were in desperate need of a break. Equipment was also in need of maintenance.

According to its Facebook page, the store was only supposed to close for a few days and reopen Tuesday, but that never happened. The representative says that updates on the store will be posted in the coming days.

The Bagel Store's Metropolitan Avenue location is still open, but workers say they quickly sell out of product.
