BROOKLYN - Williamsburg is the least counted neighborhood in Brooklyn for the census, according to the census Web site.

Only 31 percent of Williamsburg residents have filled out and returned the census. Community leaders say they are continuing to encourage all households to return the census.

New York City typically receives 25 billion in funding after the census numbers are tallied. The city will lose $3,000 for each person who does not return a completed form.

Members of Williamsburg's Orthodox Jewish community say the recent Passover holiday may have played a part in the low census return rate. They say efforts will be redoubled to have residents return their census forms.
